News source: NVIDIA and Oracle’s official October 27, 2026 release. This is independent reporting and analysis; commercial claims are not our test results.

The companies announced general availability of Vera Rubin NVL72 and Vera CPUs on OCI, alongside plans for multi-gigawatt expansion. Future rollout should not be treated as capacity already delivered to every customer on announcement day.

This is not only a GPU story

The announcement distinguishes model-heavy computing from tool execution and retrieval, which can require separate CPU capacity. Independent scaling is part of the proposition; the benefit for each application depends on its actual behavior.

Our interpretation

Evaluate a completed task. Faster generation does not necessarily improve user experience if tool execution remains blocked. Shared infrastructure also leaves access, quotas and cost management to address.

For buyers, these questions matter more than the capacity headline:

  • Which service and region can be ordered now?
  • Is the current constraint generation or surrounding work?
  • How will cost and latency per accepted task be measured?

What still needs investigation?

An announcement does not establish organizational fit. Check regional availability, service terms and a small realistic trial before committing. This report provides neither current pricing nor a universal platform ranking.
